A Time Bomb

Since I'm in a horological and Kunderagical state of mind, there's a watch thats unique to an individual. Just like gestures that define us.

My collection of watches varies from the quirkiness of the 70s, the digitized 80s and the revival of the mechanized watches, thereafter. Purists aside, there's a greater story to a watch than time and engineering feats. It defines your personality. It reflects your mood. It determines your outlook.

Leave me a comment. I'll read your blog or decipher your comments and tell you the watch that is you.

To a T!!! A simplistic elegance (with hidden complexities) to a true adventurer. A rarity to add.

Wonder what the weight's like??

Next time I'm at the Grand Palace I shall enquire of the King if they replaced the the original gift piece and bequeth it to me!

noni, reminds me of your eyeslah (the one in the photo). Actually, you could carry off this watch. "industrial strength".

You don't have to tell me. I'm a Timex: Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

sic6sense said...

babulicious, the casing's platinum, weight is good on the wrist. The King's piece was probably defective due to the retrogade movement which was pretty new at the time.

noni,thanks for the 'watch'! :P

maddie, your're a difficult one to pick a watch for. I've chosen probably the sexiest watch available today because if all fails at least you can talk about the watch. :))

I haven't the faintest idea how that watch you recommended is deemed "sexy". One I would pick would be this.

sic6sense said...

maddie, cheh! THAT is common. i was talking about differentiation here ie a standout. Btw, how did you link instead of publishing the add like me? *blur*

Anonymous said...

That watch you gave mad is one of the 'strangest' I have ever seen!

I knew a guy once, who despite being able to afford Rolexes/Pateks up the wazoo wore a simple rubber-strap Swatch. I thought it looked good on him and suited his personality... at the time.

Perhaps it's not the watch that one wears but the wearer that 'makes' the watch. ;)

So wot's my watch then sic? :P

Boo! What is mine?

Very easy only to link it. Just use the normal html tags that you use when you're typing a post lor!

sic6sense said...

maddie, link too complex for my simple mind. But since you were not satisfied with the first gift, here's one that's inspired by the VE DAY in 1945.

Its always been just an item to remind me how late i am!

The watch for me is?

plenteh, definitely a Vianney Halter, a true genius. The Opus Three represents madness and fun. Learn about it, you'll appreciate the man, the watch.

vic, you're the easiest! This watch was perhaps the most difficult of all FP Journe's watches to create. The timepiece is sensitive but the end result is a piece mechanical marvel thats unrivalled.

Unique (doesn't everyone like to think they are unique? :P), rather complex, slightly zany and a blend of contradictions.

How absolutely me... if I may say so myself. ;)

(I checked out the article too. Maan.. some people really take their watches seriously, huh? Good reading tho.)

sic6sense said...

lita, a mood watch for you and it has dual time as well for your travels.

madnoh said...

VE day watch, kewl! How did you know I'm a WW2 buff?

Anyways, I strongly suggest using that < a href="http://.... >link < / a>" thingie (mind the spaces) for your links. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's worth it. Can't disappoint your legion of fans and groupies, can you?

sic6sense said...

lita, when copying the link, extend across to the date as some of add maybe too long. Or open the post from the side bar whre it shows the full add.

maddie, if you noticed, half the comments are mine! cant seem to get the link right! bah!

sic6sense said...

yvy, an open heart(sincerity) watch for you. :)

lita, i got my own mail too when i did that. (so I panicked and started deleting all my mails. LOL!) Blame madnoh!

Anonymous said...

eeehhh!!! so nice!!!! ;) i bet you knew my fav color was maroon coz u read abt my ged right? ;) i love it!! thanks....;)

madnoh said...

Cheh.. trying to help and got blamed. Where got meaning like this? LOL!

Use this tutorial from blooger.com. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my explanation.

vic said...

The Resonance is... whoa. Nice. Very complicated (like yours truly..sigh). The only downside for me was the fact the watch needed manual winding. But then i guess some people enjoy winding watches.

By the way the links were terbalik. Read the review. Very interesting. Thanks.
