A Brain Tumor

Some fella, titled ex PM, has the affinity for building monuments. Monumental success or otherwise, its still open to debate. But whats unquestionable, is that you must have the ego the size of a rat strolling across a crowded mamak stall to do so. Granted, some say balls.

Since I've eaten more salt and drunk more whisky than most, believe me when I say, our face is bigger than our brain. You may laugh but some people just don't realize that.

A friend of mine made some money from flogging his miserable company to the public. He wasnt satisfied with his loot, so he proceeded to build the biggest house this side of Suez. A 40,000 square feet structure on a 20,000 square feet land for a family of four.

He hasnt seen them since.

Maybe that was the plan > to loose his family..LOL!

Your friend is a typical male with space issue.

Very good idea that... building a house big enough so one can 'lose' one's family (unless of course one's family is like the one in 'The Waltons' [really showing my age here :P] and are all joined at the hip :P:P)

But 40,000 sq feet? Dang. Overkill, wot? *LOL* I can personally attest that it can be done in 10000, easy. :P

Wow...40K square feet?? Reminds me of that Ayah Pin Kindom...Err..no offence to your friend - I am sure he meant well ;)

The Waltons?
The Waltons?! They're not half as bad as Eight Is Enough as far as campiness is concerned, IMHO.

As I recall, the latter didn't even need 40,000 sqft of space.

tigerjoe: Eight is Enough? LORRD. Talk about a blast from the past. I can almost hear the cheesy theme song right now.

"Eiiiighhttt is enough.. to fill our hearts with lurrrrrve..."

(REALLY showing my age now... =)) )

I agree with raksaksabiskut...maybe that's the whole point? To lose the family? Even if they wanted to find him, they'd have to walk real far and work real hard to do so!!?? Hee hee hee...

the world will be a better place if money goes around. well, this guy is your typical orang kayu baru who made good. he need to show he's made it, i guess. like they say, you cant buy class as demonstrated through THAT couple. Space is a concept thought by many as a luxury because of the cost and limited land. so luxury as defined then must be wasted space. ayah pin perhaps see space as a spiritual need. space doesnt corrupt in its naked form. the bradies were the pick of the bunch for old me.
